With a hot cup of tea in hand and yawn for company i did what i normally do each morning, snatch the newspaper nestled in a nook in the door.A bright blue envelope caught my eye and the daunting reality that was lurking in the recesses of my mind leaped forth.
Today was 26/11,for a second was tempted to turn away form a daily ritual, didnt want the flood gates to swing wide open ushering in the sense of helplessness i had once felt. But the bright blue envelope was eying me and the lure overcame the urge to sweep the past under the rug.
I subscribe to Hindustan Times, dont really love the paper nor do i hate it enough to change.
But today something they did something that took my connection with a piece of paper to another level. As i hurriedly tore open the envelope i saw what i knew was coming a supplement dedicated to the the terror attacks of 26/11 as i skimmed through the images and felt a chill run down my spine.Just as i was about to move on to the main page,i felt a little something else in the bright blue envelope.
Heres a newspaper with something more significant that wisely worded headlines!!The line on the their main page read-'Let's do something that words cannot' and true to their proposal they did provide each and every reader with a tiny tea light candle to light up a dark past at 9.30pm tonight.
A tiny tea light candle, signifying a tiny ray of hope for anyone who was touched by what happed to this wonderfully crazy city...
