Pondicherry

Pondicherry has been sitting in the recesses of my mind for a good 3-4 years now, everytime i feel the urge to travel its been my number one destination! For some reason or the other i haven't been able to make the trip, till off late. What i love about this trip is the total randomness of it!!Was chatting with a good friend of mine about how i need a break from the chaos of Mumbai city and scoot far far away, one thing led to another and in a couple of days the both of us,found ourselves in the tranquil outskirts of Auroville!
If you haven't been there already i highly recommend looking for lodging near Auroville other than Pondicherry city.

Its amazing how travel does so much for the body, mind and soul and you realize how its important to surround yourself with people who share the travel bug!The unplanned, adventurous travelers!!So my friend made for fabulous company and we did a whole bunch of things we hadn't done in early,i rode a bicycle after donkeys years!rode a bike and didn't kill or injure anyone!we walked like craze ate super delicious food, made some really good friend had a truck load of laughs and came back refreshed and rejuvenated!!!

Here are a few crazy pics from our trip!!

Desi Trucker!!Horn OK Please

I personally love Indian and Pakistani truck motifs theres so much heart and soul that goes into each and every truck design its truly inspiring. In my advertising days i remember doing a project on Signage's and did a little bit that covered the tuck motifs.Every piece of art on a truck has a little story to tell,it could be pictures of fields,Gods, heart broken lovers, designs to ward off the evil eye.Its a visual treat no doubt.I don't know why its taken me this long to actually get down to doing a kettle inspired by these motifs. So here is a kettle design that was inspired by the same.Given a kettle is a very small space to work with compared to a truck i don't think this kettle come close to capturing the stories and societal mores associated with truck art.But never the less hope i've been able to capture the style and abundance of colour that is synonymous with this style of painting.
