Read an article in the TOI that dealt with Ex-BPO employees foraying into business ventures that work as support structures to the outsourcing industry. After having first hand faced the pros and cons of the ‘Call center industry’ these young turks have ventured into businesses like stress management, voice training workshops, recruitment for BPO…
A parallel can be drawn to the advertising and media industry where now, we have an array of service providers who act as support systems. A model coordinator turned event management firm cum celebrity management agency. Two young guys fresh out of college decided that the advertising and media world already had enough of third party bodies to contend, so what better way to smoothen the ripples than to provide a consolidated array of services with a one point contact.
Another facet to the well-entrenched youth magazine is the new quite hush hush role this magazine plays of an event management company. Having a strong hold in college campuses and easy access to the youth this magazine has leveraged this position and now act a mini event organizers for MNC and corporates that wish to participate as sponsors for college festivals.
Talk about leveraging contacts and making your biz work for u!!!

Ha HA light bulb moments... dont we have them all the time.. he he.. Yes what i got out of your post was the fact that instead of being a part of the rutt people find other different ways of gaining out of the old system, therefore bringing about a third party involvement into something you really like but dont like the way it is running right now.. for us it would be advertising and our direct involvement as servicing courier girls and boys and that one light bulb moment wen we really figure out a way to be a part of this industry but not in such a shitty manner.. he he.. Opening an agency yes we all must, i guess the batch of XIC itself can open one together but then wen i remember those mad political bitchiness every one had against each other during the group projects kind of makes me believe and think that systems dont build themsleves by falling out of the sky. It is us people who make that system and therefore if we work upon ourselves and direct ourselves together towards a common goal and not individualistic goals then we can make one hell of a industry.. :)
